The Caatinga Project, conducted by UFERSA and supported by Petrobras, released a virtual platform called Caatinga 360° during the Brazilian Northeastern Congress on Forestry held this week in Mossoró, RN. The platform, available on UFERSA website, offers users a tour through the Brazilian Caatinga ecoregion during dry and raining seasons.
Users can also listen to the sounds of the Caatinga ecoregion and have a 3D tour by using a VR headset. Thus, Caatinga 360° aims at showing the potential of flora and fauna in Northeast Brazil. “The project shows that the Caatinga ecoregion is fruitful”, says Dr. Rejane Botrel, who coordinates the project along with Dr. Jeferson Dombroski.
